Student’s comments after completing the course:

• I liked learning about all the different types of engineering and deciding which ones sounded right for me. I also loved the nanotechnology unit and liked the renewable energy unit.
• I like the introductory presentations at the start of each new module. Especially how there were questions throughout the presentation, and how it articulated on the correct answer once you submitted it.
• I liked learning about the various fields of engineering. Also I liked that I could work at my own pace.
• I’m glad that this program not only introduced us to engineering, but also prepared us for it (such as in the wrap up module and the advice from Meet an Engineer interviews).
• I really enjoyed the tissue engineering module and I think it was my favorite part of the course.
• The nanotechnology module was engaging and interesting. The Wrap-Up module was very useful as well because it showed different career paths and forced you to think about what you will do with your engineering degree.
• I liked being able to explore 3 very different subjects of engineering–yet see how they all related! I also liked communicating with other students via the forums.
• Finding out more about engineering and what it is, because I came into this course with absolutely no engineering experience.
• I could do this course from home and according to my own schedule.
• I liked exploring the many types of engineering, the people involved in the field, and the interactive module learning.
• I liked the assignments that challenged me and made me think outside the box, like the assignments given the first week where I had to create a solution to the problems.
• There was a lot of scientific content, I expected it to be easier but it was great.
• I enjoyed the wrap-up and getting to know what courses colleges are looking for you to have to go into engineering.
• I enjoyed the wide variety of topics that it covered, I especially enjoyed the fact that I had the opportunity to learn a lot more about various fields of engineering. It greatly broadened my outlook!
• I like the chances we had to apply knowledge, and give our own opinions for different problems.
• I liked the module presentations at the start of each course. The little questions that were spread throughout the presentation were helpful, particularly because they gave insight into the correct answer(s).
• The modules were very interesting. It made me want to do the different things that engineers do.
